Will you be creating an annual report/infographic this year?
Holds Statistics
Does your library use holds to support a remote library?
Do you want to know how many times "Create Hold" was used at your building?
NEOMIN can run a Transaction Statistics report to find requests based on user profile (STUDENT1) and date range (this school year).

"Better Together" Library User Group Meeting Theme
We are "Better Together"!
"Better Together" is NEOMIN's user group meeting theme because we can Support, Share, Encourage, Learn, Grow, and Laugh with other libraries, teachers, and students when we are together. The pandemic made many people feel alone and we know that together we are better. Your library is "Better Together" with other libraries. Your library is "Better Together" with teachers. And most importantly, your library is "Better Together" with students.
NEOMIN wants to provide a means to collaborate and share (via a monthly Padlet) what your library is doing, or planning to do, to Support, Share, Encourage, Learn, Grow, and Laugh with other libraries, teachers, and students this school year. We will then use monthly user group meetings to discuss shared ideas and talk openly about library successes and failures.
Each month we plan to focus on one topic area:
September - First meeting (Let's get started!)
October - Support ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for October - https://padlet.com/autumn_dodson/support
November - Share ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for November - https://padlet.com/autumn_dodson/share
December - Encourage ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for December - https://padlet.com/autumn_dodson/encourage
January - Learn ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for January - https://padlet.com/autumn_dodson/learn
February - Grow ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for February - https://padlet.com/autumn_dodson/grow
March - Laugh ---> Here's the link to the Padlet for March - https://padlet.com/neolib/laugh
April - Last meeting (sum everything up!)
Sample ideas include, "My library supports teachers by emailing a monthly library newsletter", "I supported my students by implementing online holds to allow for continued circulation during the pandemic", "My library supports other libraries by attending monthly library user group meetings and sharing expertise and forming collaborative relationships with other professionals." Ideas can be INFOhio-related or not! Share any and all ideas!! What you are doing in your library matters!
HOW CAN YOUR LIBRARY CONTRIBUTE?
NEOMIN wants to know what you are doing and wants to share those ideas with other libraries in our area so they, too, can be "Better Together". The goal is to type your ideas each month in the Padlet before the next user group meeting (where we will discuss ideas). Your ideas can be anonymous, if you choose. P-L-E-A-S-E PARTICIPATE, even if it's ONE IDEA... your ideas will help others and make this work! I am excited to see what you are doing in our library. Should you have any questions regarding this email, please reach out to me and I'll explain further.

Library Successes & Failures
Share a past success, a current struggle, or what you're doing differently this year.
- Andria Morningstar-Gray - Lakeview High School
- Uses Canva (free) to create annual report infographic
- Joy Angelo - Warren G. Harding High School Library
- Genrefying
- Megan Phiel - Hubbard Exempted Village Schools Libraries
- Collection development
- Cataloging and placement of books with multiple authors (princess, star wars, minecraft, etc)
- Karen Trukovich - Maplewood Local Schools Libraries
- Guest Readers and Therapy Dog Visits
- "We had Guest Readers and the therapy dogs visit our school. We had five guest readers visit on one day...for pretty much the entire day. Some were past Maplewood graduates, we also had Scrappy, and a couple of hockey players."
- March Madness Right-to-Read Activities (<--- LINKED)
- Usborne Book Fair
- Guest Readers and Therapy Dog Visits
"I just completed the fair…and it was awesome! It was the first fair I’ve had with this company…and for our small school…we brought in $2,000.00. I was able to get 80 library bound books for the library. And, the rep?? Soooo easy to work with. Not sure if anyone else has used this company…but thought I’d let you know that it’s been a great experience. --" Karen Trukovich

"Parents had two ways to order books. Their child could use the paper order form and return it to me with a check or parents could use the info on the form and order online. Books ordered from the paper form will be sent to me at the school a week or two after the fair, and I'll distribute them to the homeroom teachers who will then give them to the kids. Books that are ordered online...arrive at homes within about a week after placing the order."
Christine Montgomery is the rep. Her email address is [email protected]
We sold about $2,000.00 in books. And, the library gets half of that. I was really happy with this...because the whole experience went very well and Usborne doesn't have all of the "extra" stuff or requirements that Scholastic does.
BTW: I mailed checks to Christine. She waited until the last day of the fair to put the order form orders in."
